Tim, one of the founders of Four Points Construction has been in construction since 2005 giving him a number of years of building experience. Tim grew up in Toronto and would spend his summers up north at his parent’s cottage on Lower Buckhorn Lake. In 2005 he moved up to the Kawartha Lakes area full time and got a job for a local heating contractor. There he worked part time while taking a Gas Technicians course at Durham College, which he successfully completed in 2007. After completing the course he worked full time for the same heating contractor until in 2009 when he wanted to focus on the whole picture of building and not just one aspect. He enrolled in a general construction course at Fleming College where he was selected out of the whole program to compete in a provincial roof-framing program in Waterloo. Once he completed his course he then started his career in General Contracting building his first custom renovation in Leaside, Toronto which gave him experience in dealing with the city’s extensive by-laws, permitting and the city’s committee of adjustment. After completion of the project, Tim was employed by Tom’s Contracting, a well known and respected custom home builder in the Clear\Stoney Lake area. He was the lead foreman for three years working on complex boathouses, cottages and renovations.
Matthew Moore, the other founder of Four Points Construction, has worked in the construction industry since 1999. Matt grew up on a family farm in Lakefield and has lived in the Lakefield/Peterborough area his entire life. Matt started in commercial construction working for a general contractor where he first discovered his passion for the trade. In 2003, Matt started working for a residential construction company building Linwood Homes where he specialized in framing, siding, and trim work. After a few years of doing this, Matt wanted to get back into general contracting, and in 2007 started working for a local custom home builder based in Lakefield. Matt worked as a lead hand where he expanded his skills working on custom cottages and boathouses in the Kawartha Lakes region. Matt learned to appreciate the finer details that are required of custom building and has developed a keen expertise and craftsmanship in trim work and other finishing details. Matt soon realized he embodied all of the skills necessary to be successful running his own construction business and went out on his own in 2011. Matt and Tim met while both working on the same custom cottage build and quickly realized they would make a great team that could feature both of their skills; thus Four Points Construction was born.
During our first meeting we will be giving our customers a chance to meet our team and feel as comfortable as possible with Four Points Construction. We will present the client with a portfolio of our previous projects as well as a list of credible references. We will be as attentive as possible, asking questions, taking notes and giving advice on any points we can. We will leave the meeting with all the information we need to proceed with an accurate and fair estimate.
Following our initial meeting we will begin drawing up our estimate and contract immediately. We will structure our contract to meet each individual’s needs as we know that each one of our clients are unique and so are their needs. We structure our estimates into two forms where the client has the choice of format: Fixed Price, or Time and Material, where both have their pros and cons. We provide breakdowns of all points in the construction process so our client is fully informed as to what to expect and also to ensure confidence in their contractor.
The building process can be a very complex and intricate process, something we at Four Points Construction are very familiar with. From helping with design and building drawings to post construction maintenance Four Points Construction is committed to ensuring your project runs efficiently and on budget. We ensure this by hiring professional, fully insured and licensed sub-trades, complete breakdowns of invoices and time sheets, advance ordering and bookings of materials and sub-trades to leaving the job site in a clean and orderly manner at the end of each day. We take pride in our projects from when the first bucket of earth is removed to when the keys are handed over to the client.
At Four Points Construction we take our customer satisfaction as our number one goal. We base our success of each project on the satisfaction of each individual client where we ask for a referral and recommendation. We will also offer any after sales maintenance that may be needed or wanted from our clients. Just because the job is done does not mean our services are.
